1. ABOUT THIS POLICY

This Cookie Policy explains how Unity Consulting Group Ltd (“Unity Consulting”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on unitycorporate.com (the “Website”), and how you can control them. It supplements, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.

2. WHAT COOKIES ARE

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies set by unitycorporate.com are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another domain, such as Google, are called third-party cookies. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy.

3. HOW WE ASK FOR YOUR CONSENT

When you first visit the Website, no analytics or advertising cookies are placed on your device. All optional storage is switched off by default. A banner asks whether you accept them, and nothing optional is stored until you make a choice. You can accept everything, reject everything, or allow only specific categories. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting: both options are offered as equally prominent buttons on the first screen of the banner.

We implement this using Google Consent Mode v2. Before any Google tag loads, the Website instructs it that advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation, analytics storage, functionality storage and personalisation storage are all denied. Those instructions are only changed once you consent.

4. COOKIES WE USE

4.1 Strictly necessary — always active

These are required for the Website to function and cannot be switched off. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive they do not require consent.

• uq_consent — first-party — 180 days — stores the cookie choice you made, the categories you allowed, the version of this policy you saw, and a random identifier for that choice. It contains no name, email or IP address.

• wp-settings-1 and wp-settings-time-1 — first-party — 1 year — set by WordPress only for signed-in administrators of the Website, to remember admin interface preferences. Ordinary visitors never receive these.

4.2 Analytics — only with your consent

Used to understand how the Website is used, so that we can improve it. Reporting is aggregated.

• _ga — third-party (Google) — 2 years — distinguishes one browser from another so that visits can be counted.

• _ga_HMEG73WRHY — third-party (Google) — 2 years — keeps Google Analytics 4 session state for our measurement property.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited. Analytics data from this Website is transmitted to Google endpoints in the European Union.

4.3 Marketing — only with your consent

Used to measure which of our advertisements lead to enquiries, and to show relevant advertisements to people who have already visited the Website.

• _gcl_au — first-party — 90 days — set by the Google Ads conversion linker to attribute an enquiry to the advertisement that produced it.

• _gcl_aw and _gcl_dc — first-party — 90 days — stored only if you arrive from a Google advertisement, and used for the same attribution purpose.

• Cookies set on the google.com and doubleclick.net domains — third-party — up to 2 years — used by Google for conversion measurement and remarketing.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, Google relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

4.4 Functionality and preferences — only with your consent

Reserved for cookies that remember choices such as your language so that the Website behaves the way you left it. At the date above the Website does not place any cookie in this category, but the control is offered so that your choice is already recorded if we introduce one.

5. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU REFUSE

If you reject the optional categories, no analytics or advertising cookie is written to your device, no advertising identifier is stored, and you are not added to any remarketing audience. Google tags remain present on the page but operate in a restricted mode: they may transmit an anonymous signal that a page was viewed, without any cookie, without an advertising identifier, and without anything that allows you to be recognised on this or any other website. Any previously stored analytics or advertising cookie is deleted from your browser at the moment you refuse.

The Website works fully without the optional cookies. We do not use a cookie wall and we do not restrict access to any content based on your choice.

6. CHANGING OR WITHDRAWING YOUR CHOICE

You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Select “Cookie settings” in the bottom-left corner of any page of the Website to reopen the preference panel, adjust the categories and save. The change takes effect immediately.

You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Website from working.

7. HOW LONG YOUR CHOICE LASTS

Your choice is stored for 180 days. After that the banner appears again so that you can confirm or change it. The banner will also reappear sooner if we materially change the categories or providers described in this policy, because your earlier consent would no longer be informed.

8. OUR RECORD OF YOUR CONSENT

Article 7(1) of the UK GDPR requires us to be able to demonstrate that you consented. When you make a choice we record the date and time, the categories you allowed, the version of this policy that was shown to you, the page and language you were on, and the random identifier held in the uq_consent cookie.

We also store a one-way, salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address and of your browser’s user agent string. A hash of this kind cannot be reversed to recover the original value, and we do not retain your IP address or user agent in readable form. The record is kept on our own servers, is never used for marketing, and exists only to evidence your choice if a supervisory authority asks us to.

9. THIRD PARTIES

The only third party that receives data through cookies on this Website is Google. Google acts as an independent controller for advertising data and as our processor for analytics data. Google’s own explanation of how it uses information from sites that use its services is published at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

The Website also loads web fonts and JavaScript libraries from fonts.googleapis.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net. These requests do not set cookies, but the providers necessarily receive your IP address in order to deliver the file.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in the law. When a change affects the categories of cookies or the providers involved, we will ask for your consent again. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
